Store Profile: Village Discount Outlet on Elston

Another outlet in the expansive and inexpensive Village Discount chain. For some reason it inspires poetry out of Yelpers. Although not many favor this particular outlet.
I’m a digger, a browser a sifter
a grabber, a hauler, a stitcher
a shopper, a shouter
don’t put it past me to accost you
if i find you ogling my cart
but no other village discount
give me the heebie jeebies like this place
although if you have a quarter
you probably can find at least something to buy here!
The bad ever smill you well smill it in a closed place.
Not helpfull with any one.
Prices cheap
Some good stuff
Some items are the same prices as new one.

Part of the trio of horrible Village Discount Outlets (the others being the Roscoe Village and Clark St. locations) this place is picked over, the housewares that are worth getting have all been marked up because they are “collectable” (yeah right!), and their furniture sucks. I love the Village Discount chain but try to avoid this one as much as possible. — Trent M.

Yeah, this one is usually picked over and the employees are somehow surlier than usual.
I’ve scored a few Casio keyboards there, but they keep them behind the glass cases at this location and we all know how difficult it is to deal with that situation. The one a quarter mile away on Lawrence is far superior.
