Wednesday Craigslist Roundup: Grand Rapids
I’m taking it on the road back to my hometown! While I was growing up here I was so angst-filled I didn’t realize the wealth of modern furniture design at my fingertips. But typical: most people from Grand Rapids take it for granted. A cursory search of the Grand Rapids Craigslist reveals few listings with “mid century” in their titles, but search for “Herman Miller” or “Steelcase” and you’re bound to find at least one person with a stack of Eames shell chairs in their basement. This week it’s no different. Behold:

I grew up in GR too and you are SO right! I had no idea about the history of Herman Miller, the Eames, etc until I started reading Dwell magazine back in college.. now I’m sitting in a shell chair retrieved from my grandpa’s basement, yay!
