I stood across from this TWICE this past weekend while visiting Milwaukee (couldn't get enough of Comet, I guess, despite them accidentally forgetting about us and making us wait over an hour). Wish I had seen this before today.

Oh, and GR represent. Just the other day, my little brother (who still lives there) was talking about how when he was little, he used to feel like Blanford Nature Center was this, like, SUPER long bus ride from our school. It's 7 miles exactly from my elementary school.

This makes me miss Milwaukee!! Last time I was at Koppa's they were having Sausage Fest, their own little beer fest with a live band set up on the cross street. The Sausages from the Brewer's were there. Miss the Hodags, miss Koppa's.

Ha! I saw the sign and did a triple-take. My first serious boyfriend lived not a block from Koppa's. And I loved going to Comet across the street to study-- before they changed concepts. Milwaukee is truly a gem of a city. I love seeing more people notice that.

So much fun. I had a Matterhorn restaurant in my childhood. It makes my mouth water for the best cheese fondue EVER. No taxidermy there but each booth had a miniaturized, beautifully lit Swiss town or mountain scene. Full of little people in garb of the Alps, skiers and sheep herders going about their tiny business as I dipped squares of stale bread in hot cheese heaven.
Thanks for the memories.

I LOVED Pooh's Corner. My Mom would take me to their Saturday Story Times. And I think they sponsored Breton Village's Halloween Costume Parade thing that I loved. I wonder if we ever met there when we were wee ones?!

As far as this grocery store goes... I want to go to there.
